Colour Blocking


Colour blocking is creating contrast within an outfit by clashing colours within the garments you pair up. The most successful way to do this is by picking colours on the opposite ends of the colour wheel.

Colour clashing has been known as a fashion faux-pas but it has now become an essential tool for designers. Spring/Summer 2017 saw many designers incorporating this trend into their shows: Balenciaga clashed bright oranges with pale blues and Valentino brought us a lime green and burgundy combo.


Colour blocking is a bold trend to try-out especially if you wary of experimenting with what you wear.  Bright, bold colours are tricky to style out so sticking to one or two colours at a time will be a good place to begin. Before we created a look book for extreme colour blocking we first decided to show how easy it is to incorporate a singular colour into your everyday wardrobe. We experimented with blue, red, green and yellow.

Photography Experience #Silverburnafterdark

Silverburn Photography Experience  Last month, we had the privilege of being invited to a photography  event at Silverburn. The event was called 'Silverburn After Dark' and the whole concept behind it was to show Silverburn in a new light... in the dark!! This experience was great for us because, as fashion students, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and take inspiration from everything you see! Overall, this was a fabulous experience and we hope these photographs capture the essence of it! (All photos were taken in Silverburn, which is a shopping centre close to Paisley.
